To achieve maximum effectiveness, One-To-One: Executive Coaching is a three-phase process:
Phase One - Assessment
The first phase of One-To-One is to determine the key objectives of the executive. The first two meetings are spent discussing specific challenges of the leader, and/or collecting and reviewing 360-degree feedback from peers, team members and customers. The assessment may also include gaining insights from other key leaders within the organization.
Phase Two - Creating Change
The second phase of One-To-One is a series of highly productive sessions in which the coach and the leader discuss and explore solutions to the many challenges the leader faces in the workplace. Lasting anywhere from two months to a year depending on the executive’s needs, meetings conducted over the phone or face-to-face are designed to give the leader an opportunity to discuss and apply solutions and to monitor progress. At least one week between each session ensures that the leader can test drive new behaviors and skills and report back the results and impact of their efforts.
Phase Three - Closure
The final component of the One-To-One process is for the leader and the coach to create an effective plan for ongoing development. Together, they design ways the leader will continue to grow and identify who the executive will engage to provide ongoing feedback and validation for new skills.
